The NBA postseason starts on April 17th with sixteen teams aiming for the NBA Finals, twelve of them present in last year's playoffs, and both finalists in the Orlando Jazz and 2009 champions the LA Lakers. Each matchup is a seven game series, and the first four are scheduled in batches over between April 17-26 and any further required games taking place April 26 - May 2. US national TV coverage is split between ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV.

ＮＢＡのシーズンオフが４月１７日、昨年のプレイオフに進出した１２チーム、そして２００９年度チャンピオンのロサンゼルス・レイカーズとファイナリストのオーランド・ジャズを含めた、ＮＢＡファイナルを狙う全１６チームの間で始まる。それぞれの組合せは７試合シリーズだ。最初の4試合は４月１７日～２６日にバッチで行われることが予定されていて、さらに必要とされた試合は４月２６日～５月２日に行われる。米国の国家テレビ放送は、ＡＢＣ、ＥＳＰＮ、ＴＮＴ、そしてＮＢＡＴＶによって分担される。
